A Little look into what i have been up to. I painted over 35 Yamomark figures for Wonder Festival Feb 7th in Tokyo. There is a bunch of goodies in here also some secret exclusive releases too.

Masters of my Universe !

While I was in San Francisco for Kaiju Invades SF show. We all had a little down time before the show. Mark and I talked about all of us painting some toys for the fans for the event. What basically happened from there was history in the making (Literally).

Mark had a juicy clear eyezon as the canvas for Sunguts, Dream Rocket, Max Toy, & me :), Dead Presidents to apply our sprays too.

While we were prepping the eyezon there was talk of stuffing it with some of Marks trademark guts in it. But, after some thinking Mark pulled out a glow neo -eyezon from his stock of goodies and we feverishly started the process of sticking the whole thing inside the eyezon belly.

There was no way i was going first . I have never even used v color paints before !

After that was complete it was time for some painting. Please keep in mind that all of these guys are my biggest idols ! Truly masters of my universe !

First up , Mr.Mark Nagata . He starts a on leg and throws down a few colors like it was done by a robot.

Next up, the legendary Yajima-san of Dream Rockets. This guy takes over and schools all of us on how its done . His ability to blend color is second to none. He pulled out the stops on his leg. Complete with inside painting and multiple dry brushes,etc.

After that, Sunguts !!!!. He grabs the arm section of the eyezon and digs right in. First, he starts to lay down some crazy lemonade color app. While that was drying i see him pulling some scotch tape out and it looks like he is cutting a mask of some sort ! . It was true, he made this cool "S" stencil and he applied the same one multiple times on his arm section. Very impressive !

Ok, then we took a lunch break. Mark showed us one of his latest kaiju acquisitions. The Bullmark Box. a history of Bullmark and reprinted catalogs,advertisements,etc. All of us were drooling over what was inside those pages.

Finally , it was my turn to paint my arm section. Never used v color before so i think everyone got a kick out of it :). I layed down a few color combos to try to keep up with everyone else. I also sprayed one of the eyes black for pinstriping it later. It was weird painting in front of people i really admire and respect. I stopped for a second and looked up to see all of them staring at me like "whoa" . Sunguts was filming the whole session as well.

Mark had said that this was the very first time that 4 kaiju painters have painted on the same piece before. I am going to make this a point to do the next time i'm in japan. It was a little tough communicating with Sunguts & Dream Rocket verbally but with the language of Painting & Kaiju we do just fine. We all had a lot of laughs calling each other #1 every chance we got :) .

As i look back on that quick stop i had in San Francisco, the memories that i have from that will remain forever in my crazy brain. Hats off to Mark Nagata /Max Toy & his most gracious family. They did a great job of keeping not only my belly full all the time but my brother Jimmy as well :) . Enjoy !

Dead Presidents invades San Francisco !
